Posted by Locutus on 02 May 2019 - 10:30 PM

Peter Mayhew recently passed away at the age of 74. While some may not know his face or name, he was the man behind the Chewbacca outfit in the Star Wars franchise. He portrayed Chewbacca in The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Revenge of the Sith, The Force Awakens, as well as other roles in the Star Wars franchise.

Peter also portrayed many other roles throughout his lengthy career.

You will be missed.

#2581 Star Trek Armada II & Fleetops

Posted by Locutus on 25 March 2017 - 11:25 AM

starmada2_logo.jpg

Set just six months after the events of Star Trek: Armada, the Borg once again threaten the Alpha Quadrant. They have created a new ship capable of assimilating entire worlds in just a few seconds. After routing the attempted foothold, Captain Picard discovers a new type of nebula - a tachyon nebula. Intrigued, Picard discovers a new type of transwarp gate called a Transwarp Portal, capable of sending fleets of starships from one quadrant to another almost instantly, thus giving reason as to how the Borg managed to get so deep into the Alpha Quadrant undetected. Starfleet Command then orders Picard to seize control of it and launch a counteroffensive into the heart of Borg space in the Delta Quadrant, into the Borg staging grounds. Though successful, some of the Federation forces, Picard included, are left stranded when the Transwarp Portal collapses due to a destabilization of the inter-spatial transwarp manifolds.

#2464 Meakas next PC

Posted by Locutus on 03 December 2016 - 06:49 PM

That's a sexy build. I especially love the 4TB SSHD, we've waited a long time for high capacity solid drives. Modular Gold PSU and ASUS mobo both look great. The case with built in water cooling and the lighted helix reservoir on the front kicks ass. I've been an avid EVGA GFX fan for too many years to even count, and I did find one on Newegg that had built-in water cooling with specs that were close enough not to matter, it was 20 bucks cheaper too. But either way you can't go wrong with Gigabyte. I prefer Ripjaw or TridentX RAM from G.SKILL, I found 16GB for both series but they were just over $200 so I didn't link them here, that Sniper series should do just fine though.

#2431 Be at peace Mom

Posted by Locutus on 01 September 2016 - 04:03 AM

My condolences to you

Thank you Harry, It's been a tough six years and the last week or so it has been the hardest time we've ever gone through. She was a kind, gentle, and stubborn woman (now you know where I get it from xD). Among the thousands of memories I'll remember is a few days ago mom was lucid for the last time and she knew who I was and cupped my cheek, I grabbed her hand and cried with her. We knew the time had come. I'll never forget that. Now to make finale arrangements.

After a much needed maintenance and full software update, we're back online!

You won't notice much from your end, but the entire backend software has been fully updated to the latest version. Major changes and additions. As time allows I'll be able to implement new stuff around here that we didn't have before. :thumb:
