Welcome to our new website!
Today I'm proud to announce we're operating from our own licensed IPB software and professional webservers. We're still the same brothersofwar.org you've come to know over the years just with a brand new website boasting the latest features and technology available in community software on the internet today!
This new website is feature rich and you'll begin to notice great new changes and improvements right away, instead of boring you with the details I encourage you to start navigating the site and post at your heart's content.
You will need to create an account on this new website even if you had an account on the old website.
The only drawback to our new website is that we unfortunaltey could not migrate the content over from our old website, that tech was just too old and incompatible, so many old topics and posts are essentially gone. However, you can still view the old website here and if you desire you can even look up your old topics or posts and post them on this new site!
If you have any questions, concerns, or bug reports please do not hesitate to post in this topic!

Tyson hits another homerun!
That was excellent! I saw Halley's comet in 86, and of course Hale-Bopp in 97 which changed my life (met my wife while comet gazing at a party).
Tyson really delivers the content and we can finally render the graphics in a way that gives the Cosmos series what it deserves. If you have any interest in astronomy, history, mathematics, science, biology, or if you have kids, watch this series every week!

Peter Mayhew recently passed away at the age of 74. While some may not know his face or name, he was the man behind the Chewbacca outfit in the Star Wars franchise. He portrayed Chewbacca in The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Revenge of the Sith, The Force Awakens, as well as other roles in the Star Wars franchise.
Peter also portrayed many other roles throughout his lengthy career.
You will be missed.

We proudly host 2 active guilds in SWToR and we have many players active daily. Both guilds offer a fun, friendly, and relaxed community driven environment with no hassles or drama. We're a group of friends who play hard and fight fair, with ultimate fun as our goal. We're looking for new members who are civilized, like-minded, mature, and play fair. Gaming experience, playstyle, and stats are not important, quality in character is what we ultimately seek.
Brothers of War is a clan and we're always accepting applications, however you do not have to join our clan in order to join the guilds in-game. Clan membership is required however for higher level ranks in the guild. If you wish to join the clan please read our application topic and post your application for review. We have a Teamspeak voice server available for those age 18 and over.
Both guilds are located on the Star Forge server.
We've outfitted a stronghold for the guild and a guild bank is available for guild members.
If you wish to join the guild just ask any member and we'll shoot you an invite!
You MUST join Teamspeak at least once before we recruit you!
You can also post in this topic with your character name.
Guild Officers are appointed by the GM's, this rank is a highly restricted position and only appointed to active BoW clan members. Don't ask for this position, if you're officer material we'll ask you. Guild Officers assist with daily operations and are guild bank Quartermasters. Clan membership and Teamspeak required.
Senior Spaceballs are senior guild members who are also BoW clan members. This position carries the responsibility of helping others to level and complete missions, as well as helping the guild in any way possible. Bear in mind these members are gamers like the rest of us so they may not always be able to drop what they're doing right away. Clan membership and Teamspeak required.
The Spaceball rank is the bulk rank of the guild, it's where most members will reside. Clan membership is not required however you must be active in our Teamspeak server as this position is allowed to invite new recruits.
Junior Spaceball is reserved for players who do not participate in Teamspeak and have not joined the Brothersofwar.org clan. Those who pass our probationary period will be promoted to Junior Spaceball, however you will not have additional powers or access to the guild bank and you are not allowed to directly recruit new members, Junior Spaceballs may, however, direct possible candidates to higher ranking members of the guild.
New Recruits undergo a 2~4 week probation period before consideration for a promotion to Junior Spaceball. This probation period varies because it depends on how active you are. We look for friendly, helpful players who will stick around and remain loyal to the guild. Clan membership and Teamspeak is not required however if you have a mic please feel free to join our Teamspeak.
As for guild rules, use common sense, we're easy to get along with and we're not going to boss you around. Be kind, show respect to others, and play fair, that's all we ask. If you like drama, flaming, disrespect, or unsportsmanlike behavior; we're not the guild for you.

GREETINGS PROGRAMS!
TRON 2.0 is the present-day sequel to the 1982 cult film classic that was a landmark of computerized graphical ingenuity. TRON 2.0, is a story-driven, first-person action game that propels the player into an alternate universe inside a computer. As Jet Bradley (son of the original films hero Alan Bradley) you will combat digital opponents using guns, rods, grenades, missiles, and the iconic TRON disc. Combining the best of the genre with a truly innovative look and breakthrough game play, TRON 2.0 delivers an adventure unlike any other. It will take PC gaming to a new level with intense action, intense and deadly battles, and high-speed light cycle races.
This is a very hard game to find and even more expensive then when it was first released as it's considered a classic, however, Tron 2.0 is now on Steam and it's only $10!
While the game is playable out of the box when you purchase from Steam, it does not have all of the enhancements and add-ons that have been available for over a decade. LDSO. Living Dead System Operators (LDSO) is a dedicated community to the further development of the Tron PC games (particularly Tron 2.0): including the creation of maps, mods, expansion packs, and tools.
I recommend the following UPDATES:
This new self-installing map pack contains every fan-made Multiplayer custom map released as of 02/21/13. Now it's easier than ever to obtain all the Multiplayer maps and install them with just a few clicks of the mouse. Every Light Cycle, Disc Arena, and Derez map all in one download. The installed maps require about 2.2 GB of hard drive space. Works on 98/Me/2000/XP/Vista/7/8/10.
We host multiple online servers where you can play 24 hours a day! You must have the recommended updates and the complete map pack in order to play on our servers.
Note that v1.1a of the Killer App Mod is not compatible with v1.1 for online Multiplayer. Everyone playing together in a match must be using v1.1a, and that includes the server hosting the match. I recommend uninstalling v1.1 before replacing it with v1.1a.
Killer App Mod v1.1a was tested on both the CD/DVD Retail and Steam versions, and will work with Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 (both 32-bit and 64-bit in all cases). It should also still work on 98/Me/2000, but was not tested on those versions of Windows.
How to play ONLINE with modded Tron 2.0
When you first run the launcher, click the "Custom" box and turn off the User Error mod, you must have this set to "Retail" in order to play online. Keep this setting in "Retail" until you've finished the Campaign, afterwards you may select one of the 2 "UserError" mods to play extended Campaigns.
Troubleshooting for Steam Users
Replacing the existing TronLauncher.exe with this should stop the "endless looping" problem that occurs during installation of the Steam version of TRON 2.0, for most people. Works on XP/Vista/7/8/10.
TronFixedLauncherSteam.zip 4.28KB 118 downloads
OR
You can just navigate to your Tron 2.0 installation folder and run your original launcher as admin.

OK. So I installed L4D2 beta and now L4D2 works. Go figure.
Posted by HarryMcHairball on 10 May 2014 - 11:20 AM
I have been trying to get L4D2 installed for like 3 days now. It gets to about 4.5gbs of 7.5 and then won't stay connected to finish.
I installed 4 other games with no issues on steam so it is just L4D2 that is having the problem.
