Borg Barbecue Sauce

Born and raised for many years in Memphis, Tennessee, I longed for that perfect southern BBQ flavor from my childhood that left me begging for more. Well, I've done it folks, I came up with a recipe that would make Elvis proud.

Perfect on burgers, pork, ribs, onion rings, fries, you name it the sky is the limit! I warn you though, once this delectable sauce hits your palate you'll raid the pantry and toss out all that store bought stuff.

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 2 cups
Difficulty: easy

1/4 Unsulfured Molasses
1 Tablespoon butter
1 cup ketchup
1 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup red cooking wine
2 teaspoons liquid hickory smoke
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon smoked red pepper powder (or cayenne pepper)
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon Cumin

1 teaspoon dry Mustard powder

1 Bay leaf

Dash of Tabasco

Cooking Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a large saucepan and simmer on medium-low heat for 30 minutes.

This sauce is best if you set it aside after simmering and allow it to cool for an hour, then refrigerate overnight. This allows the ingredients to release and meld together which further enhances the flavor.
